Summary: Humor in the current battle against Akatsuki. Sakura and Sai end up squaring against Zetsu, and as usual Sakura kicks ass. It's the aftermath of the battle that has Sai uncomfortable and for once he REALLY wants to be with a larger group... Crackfic. One-shot. Also implied Narusaku, SakuSasu, and slash.

Pairings: SaixSaku. It IS crack.

I think it's cute, and I think they're compatible...but this is basically a crack pairing. Because Sai is obviously questionable and Sakura just likes to hit people. ::snerk:: Although they do balance each other out--for all her violence, Sakura is more trusting, where Sai is practical, Sakura is the one so far teaching Sai emotions and showing how he didn’t lose them as he thought he did, that sort of thing. I really hope Kishimoto doesn’t kill him off—they could be a good team. Sakura needs someone who isn’t “Sasuke-kun” (immature love) or Naruto (maternal, cute sisterly interactions) (but I’m a hypocrite with a Team Seven OT4 (Kakashi, not Sai)…).  She's just so fucking awesome. Sakura loves Naruto with the same intensity Naruto needs Sasuke, and Sasuke wants to kill Itachi; instead of being jealous or scornful, Sai would be bewildered and then be affectionately amused by her need to save everyone. Maybe this isn't even really SaixSakura, but just the bond I can potentially see growing.
